Captain and Blue: A Story of Wetland Wonders (2026)
Captain and Blue was commissioned by Iowa State University professor, Katherine Richardson Bruna, and the Nahant Marsh Education Center. A team of naturalists at the Nahant Marsh collaborated with Katherine to create the storyline, and I served as the illustrator. Captain and Blue is a 31-page comic, and follows the life of Captain, a Blandings Turtle whose species is at risk of extinction. The comic is targeted at 5th-grade readers and aims to educate them about the importance of environmental stewardship, while boosting awareness around the Blandings Turtle. Captain and Blue will be used by the Nahant Marsh alongside their educational programming on the wetlands and used as outreach material in the classroom.

Isa's Dreams (2025)
Isa’s Dreams was created and funded by the 2024-25 Anne Elizabeth Richardson Fellowship at the Oregon Cartoon Project. Isa’s Dreams is an educational, historical speculative fiction about Isa Solorio, a young woman who feels like she’s always running to catch up – but never fast enough. One day, she stumbles into a history class about a special college called Colegio Cesar Chavez, the very first school in the U.S. created and run by Chicano leaders. This comic aims to uplift the history of Colegio Cesar Chavez while also highlighting the pressures that Latine students often face in higher education.

The Bionic Eye (2023)
The Bionic Eye created in 2023 under the UO Science and Comics Initiative, where a comic artist is selected and paired with a faculty member or researcher to highlight their work. I was paired with Richard Taylor, director of the physics department, and we created a comic that highlighted his research on fractal retinal implants.
